Xylem Solution: Solids Management
Once solids residuals have been removed from raw intake water through clarification, they must go through a solids management process during the water treatment phase of the water cycle. Solids residuals include inorganic materials, such as sand, silt, clay and metals, and organic materials like flocculated colloids and other compounds. Suspended solids are removed through mechanical separation and dissolved solids pass through a typical mechanical filter.
